In October 2002 our club successfully applied for and won a grant from the Sport England Lottery Fund which contributed to us buying our third rigid inflatable.

At the time our the Chairman, Richard Ayres said:

“This grant has given us a fantastic opportunity to expand our training and diving activities. The Club has more members now than ever before and as a result we’ll be taking the boat out to sea at every chance we get. The club already has links with marine environmental survey projects and wreck conservation projects and the Lottery funding for the new boat will allow even more divers to take part in these activities.”

The club now has two boats (RIBs). The naming of each boat was a matter of competition within the club which resulted in the following:

Tigger Too

The newest of our boats, its a 5.6m Humber with a 90hp 4-stoke engine. It carries GPS and sonar plus the latest Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) radio. The steering is centre consule and it can take about six divers and a cox on each trip.

Scuba Doo

A couple of years older than Tigger Too and a little shorter at 5.3m. The specification though is the same.
